In Kuladhakni community, Shani Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria, an estimated 500 children remain out of school, denied access to the basic education every child deserves. The community’s only primary school lies in ruins, its classrooms are dilapidated, its roof collapsed, and learning activities have long ceased. Despite these challenges, the community's resilience has sparked a remarkable movement for change. In collaboration with community leaders, youth associations, and women’s groups, MOLDEV has mobilized and supported a dedicated team of volunteer teachers to restart learning activities for these children in temporary spaces within the community.
However, these efforts can not go far without proper infrastructure and learning materials. The children currently study under trees and makeshift shelters, exposed to harsh weather conditions, without adequate desks, books, or sanitation facilities. With donor support, we can restore and rebuild the only primary school in Kuladhakni, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for these out of school children. Your support will help us: • Renovate and equip classrooms with essential furniture and teaching materials. • Provide training and modest stipends for volunteer teachers. • Supply school kits to encourage enrollment and regular attendance. • Reignite hope for a generation of children who have known only deprivation and displacement. Together, we can transform Kuladhakni’s abandoned school into a center of learning, hope, and opportunity, ensuring that no child is left behind.
